We are incredibly thankful to all participants! Your involvement helps us understand how different habits affect us, aiming to identify the most beneficial ones.

And now, let’s talk about #TheIceChallenge Prizes...

When we launched TheChallenge.Org we thought that there is going to be many difficulties. Like for example getting enough people to do such a impossible thing as going into the icy water for 30 consecutive days. Because, let’s face it, who does such a crazy thing?

Choosing the winners was tougher than we imagined. We saw so many amazing people sharing their journeys creatively. We spent countless hours making sure our decision was fair and aligned with contest rules. Let us guide you then through our decision making process and we will announce the winners at the end.

First we want to do a reminder from our Prizes page about what was the intention of doing prizes at all:

“Our intention for introducing cash prizes for the challenges needs to stated very precisely. We believe there core reward for doing the challenges is the challenge itself, plus the personal growth that is the result of going into discomfort. However we wanted to add a small cherry on top as an incentive to journal and share progress from the challenges to help engage the community of fellow participants."

We had to create a whole new process to choose the winners. To eliminate any personal bias of the team choosing the winners and abiding to the rules made for this contest:

Eligibility:

Doing 25 different posts with the correct hashtags and tagging on their Instagram or YouTube profile to enable the Organizer to verify their participation in the Contest (we reviewed each and every link). And sending it in separate links till 5th of February. And once eligibility was passed we could go forward to…

Rating:

The Organizer or a Contest Committee appointed by them will select three winners based on the evaluation of the "best-documented journey through ‘The Ice Challenge’". Other criteria that were mentioned were creativity, originality, quality, and how well the journey was presented.

So these were some of the criteria we took into consideration to be as thorough and fair as we could be:

- creativity & originality - the way documentation of the journey was done via videos or photos
- effort - sheer time spent on logistics and creating the materials to share with the community
- technical details - mentioning the temperature and and time spent in the ice
- narration - talking or writing about the experience and impact on physical & mental health. Which made the documentation more robust
- community behavior - being supportive and engaged

Winners of #TheIceChallenge

So without further ado, here are the 3 Winners of #TheIceChallenge and the cash Prizes:

And to All other Participants of #TheIceChallenge we wanted to say we read all your emails, and in our hearts, you all won. By conquering your fears and doing something probably not a lot of people in the world would dare to do. If we were able to give out more prizes we would. However being a small non-profit currently that is outside of our realm of possibilities. But maybe there will be an option to revisit this. As this Challenge stuck with us so much that we are actually… considering doing it in January next year. If that happens we would gladly see all of you then as well. 🙌 🙌 🙌
